The rail drill is a kind of drilling machine for drilling steel rails. The rail drill consists of a power part, a fixture and a drilling part. The power part can be an electric motor or a small gasoline engine.
The rail drill is also a machine tool specially designed for railway rail drilling. When the rail drill rotates at a high speed of the gasoline engine, its torque is transmitted to the gearbox through the clutch, and the drill bit is installed on the output shaft of the gearbox to rotate the drill bit.
At the same time, the control handle of the vibrating feed mechanism drives the drill bit to feed or retreat through the worm, worm gear, and rack and pinion transmission system to complete the rail drilling operation.
