  Hydraulic nuts and hydraulic bolt tensioners belong to ultra-high pressure working equipment. The standard working pressure is usually above 150MPa. The working pressure of hydraulic nuts for aluminum alloy continuous extruders can even reach 320MPa. Usually, we need to consider the raw materials of the cylinder and the piston itself, comprehensive mechanical properties (such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, reduction of area, normal temperature (low temperature) impact toughness), sealing performance, etc. Less consideration is given to the mixing of air into the cylinder.

  The adverse effects of air mixed into the cylinder of hydraulic nuts and hydraulic bolt tensioners:

  1. Unstable pressure

  Since the compressibility of air is much greater than that of hydraulic medium, during the pressurization process, the mixed air will gradually merge into the hydraulic medium. As the pressure gradually increases, the rate of air fusion will change, resulting in the pressure value of the hydraulic system. Shock.

  2. Pressure relief is not safe

  When the pressure is relieved, as the pressure drops, the air mixed in the cylinder will be released from the hydraulic medium. When the plug is removed, the mixed air will often be ejected together with the hydraulic oil (gaseous or liquid), splashing Hydraulic oil can cause safety accidents and equipment damage.

  3. Damage to the sealing ring

  For some seals that can allow low-pressure leakage, the release of mixed air will damage the sealing surface and smooth chamfered parts of the sealing ring, resulting in seal failure.

  4. Lengthen the tightening cycle

  During the tightening operation, a part of the work will be consumed due to the infiltration of air, resulting in slow pressurization, especially the tightening of the multi-bolt flange surface, which generates a lot of manpower and time consumption, and its impact is particularly significant.
